Louisville Orchestra presents Beethoven’s 9th

Conceived on a gigantic scale, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony is an exaltation of the ideal of universal brotherhood. In his only symphony to use a chorus and vocal soloists, Beethoven traced the line from anguish to joy, and from doubt to hope. In addition, Teddy Abrams has created a song cycle for soprano and full orchestra that will premiere at these performances.

ABRAMS: The Song of the River [World Premiere]
BEETHOVEN:  Symphony No. 9 (“Choral“)

Teddy Abrams, conductor
Morgan James, soprano soloist
Hayley Lipke, soprano
Liz Culpepper, mezzo
Spence Lawrence Boyd, tenor
Sonjin Kim, bass
