The University of Louisville Kentucky Author Forum presents
Doris Kearns Goodwin
Author of Leadership: In Turbulent Times

A. Scott Berg, Interviewer

Because of the tremendous response to this event, Kentucky Author Forum has arranged for additional general seating in the North Lobby at The Kentucky Center. The interview will be shown in this location on a wide screen, with live audio feed from the Bomhard Theater.

Pulitzer Prize winner, best-selling author, and “America’s Historian-in-Chief” (New York) Doris Kearns Goodwin delivers Leadership: In Turbulent Times, which is the culmination of five decades of acclaimed studies in presidential history. Combining her signature storytelling with essential lessons from four of our nation’s presidents—Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Lyndon B. Johnson—Goodwin shows how they recognized leadership qualities within themselves and were recognized as leaders by others. She explores their unique journeys as they navigated and grew through adversity, and she examines how they emerged to confront the challenges and contours of their times.

A. Scott Berg is the author of four bestselling biographies: Max Perkins: Editor of Genius, winner of the National Book Award; Goldwyn, for which he received a Guggenheim Fellowship; Lindbergh, winner of the Pulitzer Prize; and Kate Remembered, a biographical memoir of Katharine Hepburn. A graduate of Princeton University, Berg lives in Los Angeles.
